Patients are still conscious, but the effects take time to wear off, so you will need someone to bring you home afterward.
The deepest calming agent available is IV, administered intravenously for an immediate calming effect. You will be very relaxed and have no memory of the procedure, but will still be conscious. Again, the effects take time to wear off completely, so have someone ready to bring you home.
