Three Resolutions for a Brighter Smile

three-resolutions-for-a-brighter-smileJingle bells and silent nights have passed, and Auld Lang Syne is on the doorstep. That means it’s time for many of us to consider resolutions for the new year. If your usual habit it to abandon resolutions midway through January, you aren’t alone. Studies report between 50% and 90% of resolutions don’t last past January 31. Many successful resolutions are small, measurable, and give immediate gratification. We want to help you keep dental resolutions that will leave you with a whiter, brighter smile.

Keep Up With Checkups

We want to see you twice a year for routine checkups and cleanings. We are happy to schedule these in advance, so you can put them on your calendar. This is a small and measurable effort and knowing your teeth are healthy can give immediate gratification. Checkups  also allow us to  catch any problems early, when they are easiest to address.

Watch The Color of What You Eat

You probably already know that a better diet means a better smile. For a brighter smile, the color of food makes a difference. Dark beverages like tea, coffee, fruit juice and red wine can leave teeth discolored. Strongly-colored foods (such as berry pies) can also stain teeth over time. For a brighter smile, limit the time strongly colored foods are in contact with your teeth. Use a straw for dark beverages, when practical.

Teeth Whitening Works Wonders!

If you already notice a dullness or discoloration when you smile, talk to us about whitening procedures. Some people like the faster results available under supervised whitening treatments in our office. Other patients prefer the convenience of prescription strength whiteners that can be used at home. Whatever your whitening preference, our office can help. Resolve to make 2017 the year of your brightest smile!
