What is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is the process of bleaching your teeth to remove stains and discoloration. While there are many over-the-counter teeth whitening products to choose from, they are not as effective as professional grade whitening kits, or in-office whitening. Regardless of how bright your teeth look after whitening, it is still important to perform a proper daily oral hygiene routine which consists of brushing at least twice a day, and flossing daily, to continue to keep your teeth clean and free from unsightly stains.
What Types of Whitening do You Offer?
We offer in-office and home teeth whitening treatments using Kor Whitening. Deciding which is the best treatment for you, typically relies on your lifestyle. If you have the time to schedule a single appointment during the day, in-office teeth whitening is the most efficient means of brightening your smile–by up to eight shades!
However, if you prefer to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home, our at-home system includes custom-fitted trays and a professional-strength bleaching gel. For quality results, the trays are laboratory fabricated from impressions taken of your teeth. You simply fill these comfortable, securely-fitting trays with bleaching gel and wear every night for two weeks, at your convenience. This system typically results in little to no sensitivity. However, we ask that you make a final appointment at the end of your treatment to ensure that you attained optimal results.
Am I a Good Candidate?
If you feel your natural teeth are dull and could be whiter, then you are a candidate for teeth whitening. However, whitening systems only work on natural teeth. If any or all of your teeth have been replaced with prosthetics such as a bridge, crown, or veneers, teeth whitening is not a viable option. In such cases, speak with Dr. Amiri regarding other options. Also, if you have particularly sensitive teeth, bringing it to our attention will help us determine which is the best teeth whitening treatment for you.
